Having spent too much time considering how I want to structure my website, I've started paying attention on how different personal websites approach the home page.

I'm sure I've missed a few, but here are the formats I encounter more ofter:

The introduction: only static content, with links pointing to other sections of the website.
The blog: a list of recent articles, with full content.
The list: only the titles of recent or relevant posts, sometime with a brief description or snippet.
The gallery: list of recent or relevant photos, as thumbnails.
Multi-list: separate lists of different contents available on the website; e.g., recent posts, recent photos, etc.

How does your home page looks like? Why did you choose that format?

I use what you've defined as a "Multi-list" layout - the larger portion is given over to a thumbnail gallery of my latest visual artwork, the smaller "sidebar" to a list of the latest blog posts.

My site is primarily about my artwork, and the blog - titled "The Artist's Notebook" - is an accompanying studio journal about the artwork (although I also frequently publish tangential posts there about anything from the Indie Web to Radical Futures in Science Fiction to web accessibility)

The homepage for my blog uses the blog format, but without full content. This is mainly because I personally don't like scrolling through long blog posts on a homepage, but I struggled with showing summaries due to the limitations of weblog.lol at the time. However, this is also partly because I was trying to conform to the HTML Blog spec for fun.

Hello @Daryl! Interestingly, your home page is a style I had not considered: links to yourself and your content on (mostly) other platforms.

Need to find a good name, then I'll add it to the list at the top 🤔
