Having spent too much time considering how I want to structure my website, I've started paying attention on how different personal websites approach the home page.
I'm sure I've missed a few, but here are the formats I encounter more ofter:
- The introduction: only static content, with links pointing to other sections of the website.
- The blog: a list of recent articles, with full content.
- The list: only the titles of recent or relevant posts, sometime with a brief description or snippet.
- The gallery: list of recent or relevant photos, as thumbnails.
- Multi-list: separate lists of different contents available on the website; e.g., recent posts, recent photos, etc.
How does your home page looks like? Why did you choose that format?
